Our Piano Travelers program prepares students for private piano lessons through four weeks of group primer classes. During the four week rotation students will be schooled in the fundamentals of piano playing that will allow for a smooth transition to private piano for both new students and students transitioning from Musical Voyagers.
Some of the fundamentals that will be covered in the Musical Travelers program include:
- Proper hand position and posture
- Finger independence and strength
- Basic rhythm and music theory
- Beginner note reading and stem positioning
- Finger numbers
- Groups of black keys
- Middle C positioning
Musical Travelers classes run on an ongoing basis, never placing more than three children in a class at a time. Students may enroll anytime and will complete their rotation after four weeks of classes. After completing their four week session students can repeat the curriculum to further build upon their foundation or can enroll directly into private piano lessons (schedule permitting).
